I am an MSc Geography student at the Urban Ecology and Analytics Lab, researching urban ecology and habitable cities across Newfoundland and Labrador. Using GIS, remote sensing, and drone technology; through 2D mapping, 3D modelling and point cloud data I examine how urban landscapes are structured, how they function ecologically, and what that means for the people living in them. My interest in this work grew from eight years of geospatial fieldwork and from living in Lagos, where the pace of urbanization is something you experience before you ever try to measure it.
My professional background spans land surveying, geospatial analysis, drone mapping, and engineering support, with applications in urban planning, infrastructure, agriculture, and environmental impact assessment. I have mapped over 50,000 hectares across diverse environments. In Nigeria, I led consultancy efforts in the provision of accurate geospatial data across these sectors. I believe the quality of any spatial analysis is only as strong as the data behind it, and I am here to put that conviction to work for real change that improves lives.
