Taurai is a PhD student, working on UGBI and heat island mitigation. He has a background in environmental sciences, sustainability studies, and advanced geospatial modelling. His research interests are in developing geospatial methods and tools (Spatial Decision Support Systems) to translate complex environmental, climate, and socioeconomic data and interactions into simple, actionable metrics that reliably inform urban policy. His long-term goal is to bridge the gap between urban data science and community well-being. Outside the lab, he enjoys staying active and is a massive football (soccer) fan.
